(This idea comes what what we’ve heard here in this community as well as from other customer feedback methods we utilize. The feedback we gather here will help us gauge how well it fits our users’ needs. Please let us know what you think) The Problem: Audio inconsistencies mean that my users are turning their volume up and down and sometimes I’m scaring them with uncomfortably loud volume after a previously quiet clip Potential Solution: A colored audio meter on the recorder (with target audio levels) so I can make sure my voice is “just right.” (edit to original post based on feedback) Another use case with the same underlying problem is normalizing audio across media with a editor based solution. We probably should have broken this out into 2 ideas. Before we know which way to go with this, we’d like to get additional clarity on the problems to solve. This idea got a lot of votes so we didn’t want to wait until the next idea round-up to get clarity. From the feedback we heard two problems:.
I'm not sure which audio level metering you are referring to as being announced, but we added metering for system audio in our recorder, and in the voice narration tool in editor. We also have metering in recorder for any mics you have, but that isn't new for 3.

While recording screen, I want to know my audio level is in the target range so my users aren’t having to change their volume. I don’t want my audience to have to adjust their volume during my video because of inconsistent audi levels.

I’d like a way to normalize the audio levels of some or all my audio media in my project We’d appreciate if you could help us out here. We’ll update the status on idea once we have that additional information.
Hi there Caoj! I'm not sure which audio level metering you are referring to as being announced, but we added metering for system audio in our recorder, and in the voice narration tool in editor. We also have metering in recorder for any mics you have, but that isn't new for 3. However, I'm guessing what you're asking for is metering on the timeline, which is not currently in Camtasia on either platform. We're definitely interested in improving the audio experience in Camtasia, so if you could give us more details on what you're looking for and what you're hoping to accomplish with it that would be fantastic!

Hi again Caoj, I took a look at this video, and I see that we've made a mistake on our end. The video you linked is describing what's new on the Windows version of Camtasia, and one of the features we added is an audio effect called 'Volume Leveling'.
Even though i do not use the feature of being able to use an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with the device, i may end up enjoying that feature in the near future. Apogee dean duet 3600020 for mac os. For the same price as the current Duet 2, you mine as well get the latest version instead Things i am not crazy about are the Messy break out cables, one multi knob even though i understand why and last is the headphone pre amp that is built into the device. It seems very weak and hardly powers any of my Ultrasones.
This feature is just a compressor with a name that was intended to describe it to people who didn't know what an audio compressor did. Unfortunately it seems that we didn't do a good job describing this feature to our marketing department and it was represented in their video as audio level metering. My apologies, if you send me an email at we can continue this conversation.
