Hi, I get exactly the same problem. I have checked that I have enough space on my iPhone but everytime I try to click and drake albums or playlists it shows as if it has sync'd but nothing appears to have transferred. I have even rebooted my phone to see if identifies the new music but nothing has been copied. I have even tried a sync but again the process goes through the motion but nothing transfers. There are also no error message.
This has only started happening since I updated my iPhone to oS7. Can anyone help?
This did NOT work for me. I hate the new passcode so I shut it off as soon as I found out I could. Most of my music is still on my phone but nothing new will transfer. Same problem as everyone else - iPhone 5, IOS7 and iTunes 11.2. I don't know where the issue is but get it fixed please.
Apps transfer perfectly. Apple, you need to be watching these posts because I'm about ready to chuck my phone in the river!! I have music I need for concert practices and having to drag my laptop everywhere is getting really old!
Has anyone seen this problem: I was able to get my songs to my iphone 5 but on about 25% of the songs, only a portion of the song transferred. I have many songs that show the correct play time but a portion of the song is blank air time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. Some songs from a certain artist are fine others have blank time. And the blank time varries from song to song. Sometimes as much as 1/2 the song, sometimes as little as 10 seconds. I'm growing very frustrated with the latest Apple updates.
I have something to share. I went through the music synch process numerous times and never saw the music on my iPhone. (See my posts above.) On my iPhone, I went to SettingsMusicShow All Music, and turned it on. My new music is now available on my iPhone, but it shows up as being in the Cloud. It did not ever show as 'transferring' to my iPhone, although Siri was trying to find it for me. I'm not sure what this means to me - that it's in the Cloud and on my phone - but at least I can listen to Bob Seger on my iPhone now! I was able to finally find the answer!
If you go to your iPhone/iPad/iPod go to the ACTUAL Music App (not settings). On the bottom of the app select the 'More' button.
Select the 'Shared' option (picture of a house with a music note in ti). Check off the name of the playlist of your iTunes Library and not that of your device. In my case, I had my iPhone checked instead of the name of my iTunes Library. When I selected the iTunes Library, I got all of my songs and got rid of the grey circles! Hope this helps!

Now someone translate in French to help our buddy (finalnichols) from France thats having this issue. OH my gosh.this did it for me also!!! Apple you really need to return to the basics and make things simple.
I spoke to the Apple support people and they did not know about this fix I have spent the past few days trying to get my songs out of itunes into my iphone. I had the same issue (grey dotted circle but songs would not download) There are WAY TOO MANY settings and hidden functions in the IOS and Itunes makes this even more complicated. This all needs to consolidated into a single control area of IOS, instead of splitting things up between Icloud, Itunes, IOS etc etc. 1 Anything stored on your phone, should be managed by the phone only 2 Anything stored on the computer should be managed by the computer only 3 Anything stored on icloud should be managed by icloud only.
ALL TRANSFERS between the above should be managed by the apple ID 4 -If a user wants to back up anything on their device it should back up to itunes and to icloud and to the computer (identically and at the same time) this feature should not cost extra and should be automatically built into the price of the phone. 64gb phone = 64gb backup in icloud 5- there should be no restriction on what is being backed up (i found out the hard way that itunes does not back up music (I had 50gigs of wav files disappear) 6-Simplcity and useful tips should be a fundamental element on any button or selection in itunes or icloud. Most of us have spent days trying to figure out what buttons do and what selection boxes do. If you showed helpful tips or help files with useful information we would not have to spend days and days researching the web to find a solution.
7 Family sharing is a mess and should be consolidated better. If I want to share my data with family it should be managed by my Apple ID plain and simple. If we wanted something to be this complicated I would move to Android which is now actually less complicated in some areas. We have multiple Ipads, Iphones and now Apple watches that we use in our family and in our business. It has become ridiculous to manage all the devices and share the information with ease. I am very disappointed 😟.
